Two Weddings

Lots going on...Here's a few photos from the last two weddings i've done. The last one first....Wedding in Bailey's Harbor in Door County with the Wedding Reception at the Gordon Lodge..great spot..good times and a few good pics for Laura and Charlie. The next in line was in Green Bay at the wonderful Botanical Gardens. Nichole and Dave were a fun couple and good thanks to John for helping me out with some great pics himself as well as helping with the Umbrella situation in the pouring bloody rain all day.

Madness, Madeline and my motorcycle

Crazy Weekend...I shot a wedding in Depere for a great couple, Joe and Jamie on Friday the Fifth of September. Great Weather and a good day to be sure. Matt Hooper shot did the video for the wedding and it's always fun to work with Matt. Kim..a great photographer and friend of ours swung by the church for a bit to chat..nice to see her as always. Got done around 1030 and came home to have a couple drinks and download and backup the images which brought me to about 230am..sleep til 630 am even though I had my alarm set for 4am..but that's to be expected. Loaded up my Camera gear and struck out on my motorbike for the 5 hour trip up to Bayfield, Wisconsin to catch the ferry over to Madeline Island. RAIN...lots of it but was prepared for that. What I WASN'T prepared for was the bloody cold. Still in summer mode in respects to my bike..rain gear is mandatory but cold weather gear is not..so no heated vest..no long johns..not even a thick shirt for under my jacket. Froze my ass off for the first three hours. Once arriving at the ferry at about 130pm on Saturday..spent the 25 minute ride across lake Superior chatting with some fellow motorcyclists heading to the Island to do some exploring and camping. Immediately after docking on the island and departing the ferry on my bike..I met Tom, Ben and Wade at the Beach House for a much needed Beer. I was on the Island to shoot a small Intimate wedding for Duane and Kara..Duane works for Tom, who is one of my fav clients..along with Ben as well..I do some commercial work for both of them along with photographing their families from time to time...so the Beers were ok..not part of my regualr pre-wedding routine I can assure you! The weather was perfect and about the best damn sunset I've seen in a long time. Took lots of scenic shots as you can see below..then..after a bon-fire and some cocktails ( I was done "working" at 8pm) we went to Tom's Burnt down for some partying with the whole gang..lots of good times. My first trip to the island..going back in a few weeks to explore more of it as I didn't have much time to hang out that day. Sunday I was up early and on the ferry by 10am..no coffee and no cigarette smoking on the ferry..so the 25 minute sail was a pain. About 20 minutes south of Bayfield, after a 4 shot Latte, I was again soaking wet with rain that lasted the next 3 hours on my journey towards home. Back to work now..trying to catch up with much backlogged wedding albums and misc. jobs. Good mood though..some nice things going on..some emotional loads as well. But thanks for looking.
