Cool Weather..Aaaaah

This summer I've finally embraced hot weather..but a nice cool day like Wednesday is quite the beautiful thing. In the past..whenever it got hot I would fire up the AC and try not to sweat..I'm over that..now I'm finding the heat comforting..unless I'm trying to sleep..sleep and sweat are not my friend. Woke up early this morning and had one of the best coffee and cigarette mornings in a while..I've had and continue to have alot on my mind lately..lots of good..some bad..some in the twixt..so I worked hard all day on albums (wedding) and running some errands later to keep my mind swimming. Nothing really special of note and I didn't touch my camera a bit...but I'll post below a couple of spreads from the album I was working on. Hitting the pillow early tonight..doctors orders :)

Labor Day Weekend

So it's gone..summer of two thousand eight...most likely the craziest..summer of my short life on many counts to be sure. Sunday Carol and I traveled up to my parents house in Iron Mountain, Michigan to have dinner for my 37th birthday which was Monday. We arrived in the Upper Penninsula around 3pm and cruised out to the river to watch my Father photograph Water Skiers. My father, William, has become quite adept at the photography gig since we gave him a Digital SLR for Christmas a couple years back. I fired off some shots as well. It's nice sometimes to be able to shoot..and not have to give a crap on whether people like the images or not. Later, we met my Uncle Rob (Fathers Brother) at his house down the road from my parents to help him block the road from traffic while he cut down a tree for a flag pole he was making for some memorial..he does this kind of thing often :) After the tree felling we went home and chilled in the yard with the dogs..I wandered around and photographed the pics below of my parents gardens. Later we met my Brother, Bill along with Rob and a few of his friends for some Thai food (Yes..Thai food in the UP) in Aurora at the Double D! Good food..lots of Jack Daniels..Later we went to Polly's Underground for some more cheer with my folks..later being joined by my brother and a special female friend of his..who is quite cute by the way. Monday..drove home after eating brunch and cake and ice cream..jesus! Carol and I went to Nakashimas for dinner..then I went out and had a little birthday fun...back to work..late nites coming up including this one.

Good day today considering...Woke up to hot Coffee and Cigarettes per usual..second night in a real bed after living on my pal's couch or in a tent for the last two months..save for the random hotel room :). Two photo shoots today and things are pretty quiet here on Wisconsin Avenue. The first one was Haily..my lab printer's daughter..I basically shoot her sans gratis because of the awesome job she does concerning my photography printing needs..it's nice to have friends and even better to have people that can wash eachothers backs from time to time. Always keep your friends close...and your bartenders closer..The second is Annabelle. Her family hired me to shoot their first daughter and create a coffee table book last year..I should post some of those pages..I'm in the process of shooting her every month or so to do the same thing for her. Now it's off to run an errand..then to my friend Spike's for a party..He just finished his PHD work and is officially a Doctor...They don't give PHD's to photographers as far as I know...or care! So i'm gonna give myself a raise this coming week and add some hours to my schedule as the Fall season is coming and shit really hits the fan round here as the air gets cooler and the days grow shorter..I can see a new snowboard in my near future.

Not sure what or why this is all about..the blogging thing, but apparently some folks find other humans more interesting than themselves...me included. I'm a professional photographer in the Fox Valley area of the Fine State of Wisconsin, I've resided here..originally from the UP of Michigan for over 13 years....AND after a very interesting and emotionally twisted summer..I'm entering fall with a hope for clarity and new challenges. It's my good friend Jenni's Bday..wish I could meet her new guy...giver a hug and hang with them for a bit..I could have..simple plane ticket and a packed overnight bag deal.....but chose to sit in this muck and mire for the time being.
